A thermostatic mixing valve (TMV) mixes hot and cold water to control the temperature of the hot water outlet to safe levels (typically between 39°C and 43°C). TMVs are used in healthcare buildings and schools to protect users by reducing the risk of scalding from very hot water from taps and showers.

TMV3 approved valves offer improved thermal performance including a faster failsafe function and improved control when subject to variable water flow and temperature fluctuations. TMV3 valves also comply with NHS Model Engineering Specification D08 standards.
